Simon Glass
I am a visual artist living and working in Toronto. I trained as a photographer and visual artist at the Ontario College of Art and graduated in 1983. I completed an M.A. in Media and Communications at the European Graduate School, Saas Fee, Switzerland in 2005.
My current work combines photographic imagery, both archival and original, and found objects with biblical, liturgical and mystical Hebrew. It has been exhibited widely in group and solo exhibitions throughout Canada and internationally. I also translate biblical Hebrew into English. I am fortunate enough to have received numerous awards from the Toronto Arts Council, the Ontario Arts Council and the Canada Council for the Arts. I teach at OCAD University (the Ontario College of Art and Design) where I am currently Associate Dean of the Faculty of Art.
